Frequently Asked Questions

What does being a CSA member entail?

As part of our CSA, members pay upfront for flower shares, commit to picking up their flowers on an assigned day from the farm or at a partner location, and share the risks and rewards that we, farmers face each season.  We have no work requirements for the CSA, but hope to have volunteer opportunities available soon for those shareholders who want to get their hands dirty!

I am going on vacation.  Can I move my pickups to a later week?

If you will be out of town, we encourage you to send a friend or neighbor to pick up your share in you place.  Unfortunately we cannot extend or rearrange CSA shares to accommodate missed pickups.  Use this opportunity to share a little joy with someone in your life!

Can I order extra flowers to pick up with my share?

Yes! If you have a party coming up or would like to have additional flowers for yourself or to share with a friend, you are welcome to send us an email or text or give us a call and we'd be happy to add an additional flower order to your CSA share.

Will my share be held over to the next day if I cannot make my day's pickup?

We understand that emergencies occur.  In the event that you cannot make your pickup, it is up to each of our partner locations' discretion as to whether your share can be held overnight.  Please keep in mind that our partners have volunteered their spaces to host our CSA pickups and they will not be responsible for keeping shares overnight.   All shares for on-farm pickup will be held for 24 hours if notified in advance by email before being donated out.

If my pickup falls on a holiday, should I still go to pick up?

In most cases, there will be no pickups on major holidays.  In any event, we will communicate with shareholders if there are any changes to the CSA schedule.

Are all of the flowers in the CSA market bouquets grown at Sugarbud Fields?

Our intent is to always compile our bouquets using only flowers grown in our field.  However, farming is highly unpredictable and from time to time it may be necessary for us to order supplemental blooms or foliage to round out our bouquets, but this is not common.

How do I sign up?

Simply head to our Online Store page to register.

What happens to my share if a natural disaster occurs that wipes out the flowers?

We are entirely at the mercy of Mother Nature.  While we make every effort possible to mitigate crop losses, extreme weather (drought, flood, hail, etc.) can significantly impact our crops and availability of flowers for the CSA.  By signing up for a CSA, you share in both the risk and rewards of farming with us.  We promise to work tirelessly to make sure we're prepared for whatever nature has in store!
